All proceeds from the sale of this song will go to to the Susan, Charlie and Braden Memorial Fund, to build a memorial for Susan and her boys. This memorial will help us honor and remember Susan, Charlie and Braden, and to stand as a symbol of hope and the absolute need for change in laws protecting women and children, or any victims of domestic violence.

We are so excited to finally be able to present this song to the world. The song was a beautiful gift from songwriter Camilyn Morrison to her friend, Jennifer Graves. For more about the song’s creation, see this article by the Deseret News.

Jessie Funk, award-winning singer and professional youth speaker, is the beautiful voice you hear on the song. View Jessie’s website here.

April 29, 2012–Jennifer Graves, Josh Powell’s sister, is in the process of writing a book about her life growing up with Josh and Steve Powell, as well as her perspective on everything surrounding Susan’s disappearance. It’s a healing experience for her to write about all of this.

With co-author Emily Gray Clawson, Jennifer plans to finish the book sometime this summer. Jennifer shared some thoughts with KSL about her hopes for the book:

"I would hope that people come away with the power that they have to make choices and take accountability for what they do," she said. "And also that there’s always hope in their situation, no matter where they are."

There are several other authors in the process of writing books about Susan, Josh, and the circumstances surrounding Susan’s disappearance.

The week of service effort is going great!  We’ve received reports of donations around the country, and we are so grateful for everyone’s help.  Your handmade donations going to those in need would make Susan’s heart so full of gratitude, if she knew.

There are a couple of events coming up that I wanted to let everyone know about.

SALT LAKE CITY

Thursday, Feb. 11:

Knit Nights at two local yarn stores will be taking place on Thursday.  Sit and knit or crochet, chat, and work on projects for donation.  You can choose between Sandy and the downtown area at these fine stores:

Blazing Needles, knit night from 6-9pm.  I will be there with some friends and a big container of purple ribbons to hand out.

Unraveled Sheep, knit night from 5-9pm.  Enjoy a fun group in the midst of beautiful yarn.  They’re very helpful to beginners, too.

Saturday, Feb. 13:

Jennifer Graves is organizing an event for Saturday morning at 10a.m. at her local church building: 5176 W Parr Drive in West Jordan, Utah.  Here is her message:

This week is Susan Powell Service Week. Groups all over are organizing serivce projects in her name. We are putting together a service project this Saturday the 13th at 10:00am at the LDS chapel located at 5176 W Parr Drive West Jordan Utah 84081 to have a baby blanket drive. We are asking people to bring fleece to donate and scissors to edge the blankets to donate to Primary Childrens Hospital. If you’re already working on a project and would like to come and work on it with us that would be wonderful too!

This should be a great event and lots of fun.  We would love to see everyone in Utah who can join us there!
